Personally, after force awakens, there was possibility of such a bigger universe and taking star wars in a new direction, but last jedi destroyed it all, good film, but had nothing to do with star wars and where force awakens left off

i have nothing against Daisy . she seems like a genuinely nice sincere person but i will not support disney star wars at all. they subverted my expectations with the last jedi ie they did not give me what i want so i am never giving any money to star wars ever. i hope she gets paid a boatload of money.

She isn't suited for the job at all. So the perfect person as far as Disney are concerned. Fans are getting slated for not liking the newer stuff but it's show runners that draw out the battle lines before a single shot has been taken.

There's no script for the "Rey movie"? In that case it's 3 years off, even if LFL find some money to produce it. LFL hasn't been revenue positive since TFA. (See Caroline Reid's coverage in Forbes) They have no money. They cannot cross-subsidize from Marvel or Pixar. It's bewildering how they pretend it's biz as usual.

If I never saw any of the characters from episodes 7, 8 & 9 again it would be too soon. All 3 films were atrocious.

I want to see the galaxy post-Episode IX, though I could take or leave Rey. Would love to see old characters return like Chewie, the droids, Wedge, Lando along with new characters. Hopefully it would be a new age, not just another empire that's risen from the ashes. ....... Some day I hope there'll be a movie set in the remote future. Maybe Coruscant could be reclaimed by nature (a la Life Without People on The History Channel), and the galactic capital is elsewhere, or the system of government has changed so much there is no longer a capital. The Jedi could still be around, but they've evolved. The era of the Skywalkers is now an ancient legend like our Greek myths (or even Gilgamesh).

Don't get sucked in to the incel crap, the sequels lacked coherence, but they weren't terrible, nor were the prequels, especially when you consider the era they were made in, most movies around the prequels were bad because they didn't know how to use the evolving tech, movies didn't pick up again until the later noughties and teens. The acolyte is also good. Solo was good. Just watch and enjoy it, or don't and go away.

If you don't like Mary Sue Palpatine-Skywalker, then for goodness sake, don't pay to see a SW "10" movie. Like others my age and older, I've been a fan since 77'. Seen all of them multiple times, including the prequels. I loved those, even when others bashed them. I loved the spin off movies -- including Solo. But 7-9 made me so angry, I wished someone would snipe K.K. There's no way in HELL I would watch another SW in the Skywalker saga, unless it was a total reboot. (Meaning "Never")

I think the best idea going forward for Lucasfilm would be to release the Mandalorian movie first, regain the audience's trust, take note of what audiences responded to, and proceed from there. They need to take their time, hire a GOOD team of writers, and only proceed when they have a clear vision. Do NOT let KK or any other higher-ups screw with the script. And above all, avoid reshoots. I think they are pushing for the Rey movie to get made as soon as possible while Daisy Ridley is still young. (And also Rey is Kathleen Kennedy's self-insert character....) I think they want to resolve Rey's story before they make any movies taking place after Episode 9. As with all Star Wars projects, I really want it to succeed, but ... good grief, you know what's going to happen. They're going to make a big show about hiring "diverse" writers and actors, and then not put any effort into the story. They will fire a director or two, push the release date back because of reshoots, etc, etc, etc. Then when people hate it, they'll attack the fanbase and call us bigots and cancel the next project. I really would like a Rey movie that makes her character likable, relatable, and interesting, but I don't think they're able to do that unfortunately.

They still don't get it. Star Wars was made as a rebellion against studio control and studio interference. Kathleen Kennedy, JJ Abrams, Leslye Headland, and the rest are the anthesis of what George was trying to do. What they need is to strip it down and bring Star Wars full circle. No studio input. Let the storytellers tell their story without corporate interference. Get back to the themes, influences, and concepts that made OT Star Wars work.

NO MORE REY MOVIES why do we have to endure more Rey some like it but the majority of fans do not. They keep on spending millions and millions on stuff that is uninteresting and with no direction. The stuff we are getting now apart from Mandalorean and maybe Ahsoka shouldn't even be called Star Wars.

I think that, for many people at Disney, making the Sequel trilogy work is a matter of professional survival. They'll insist on it until they make it work or get kicked out. They don't want their legacy to be to have destroyed one of the biggest cash cows (never mind the art or the fans) in the show business.
